Put a gun to our heads, wed still swear that tea is the greatest drink on earth. Call some friends over, put a big kettle to boil and relax in the company of some good people and an equally great cup of tea; nothing quite like it. But when the summer is raging a good ninety degrees outside or you want a night out, we understand tea doesn’t quite cut it. Dont worry though. Here are some easy-to-do cocktail recipes with tea, so that you dont have to choose between tea and alcohol.

Dewars Dilemma Recipe

Ingredients
  1. 30 ml Dewars whisky
  2. teaspoon Upper Namring Exotic (Spring) Darjeeling Green Tea
  3. 100 ml water
  4. 20 ml Heather Honey Syrup
  5. Mint leaves for garnish
Instructions
  1. Boil the water and drop the tea leaves in. After steeping for 3-4 minutes, strain the leaves and let the tea cool.
  2. In a shaker, combine Dewars whisky, tea and Heather honey syrup. Shake until blended.
  3. Serve over ice cubes and garnish with mint leaves.

Voodoo Punch Recipe

Ingredients
  1. 30 ml white rum
  2. 15 ml Blue Curacao liqueur
  3. teaspoon Doomi Assam Black Tea
  4. 100 ml water
  5. Sugar - to taste Lemon peel to garnish.
Instructions
  1. Boil the water. Add the sugar to it and mix until it dissolves.
  2. Drop the leaves in. Let it steep for 4 minutes, strain the leaves and let the tea cool.
  3. In a highball glass with ice, pour the rum and Blue Curacao liqueur.
  4. Add the sweetened black tea till the drink becomes black.
  5. Serve over ice cubes. Garnish with a peel of lemon.

  1. 30 ml dark rum
  2. teaspoon Giddapahar China (Summer) Darjeeling Black tea
  3. 100 ml water 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  4. teaspoon cinnamon powder
  5. Sugar - to taste
Instructions
  1. Boil the water and add sugar. Still until it dissolves completely.
  2. Drop the tea leaves. After 3 minutes of steeping, strain the leaves and allow the tea to cool.
  3. Combine the tea, rum, lemon juice and cinnamon powder in a shaker and shake till it blends.
  4. Serve over ice.

  1. 30 ml Jamesons Whisky
  2. 15 ml absinthe 1 teaspoon
  3. Ilam Classic Organic Nepal Green Tea
  4. 120 ml water 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  5. Spring of mint for garnish. Sugar to taste

  1. Boil the water and add sugar. Stir it in till it dissolves.
  2. Drop the tea leaves. After steeping for 4 minutes, strain the leaves and allow the tea to cool.
  3. Combine the tea, lemon juice, whiskey and absinthe in a shaker. Shake till it blends evenly.
  4. Serve over ice cubes, garnish with mint.
