Known by the botanical name Lavandula angustifolia, the pale violet flower buds of lavender are popular for making soaps, bath salts, aromatic oils, and tea. Though it’s popular for its fragrance and color, it has been revered for centuries in traditional medicine to improve the sleep cycle, reduce anxiety, and heal skin ailments.

With high concentrations of vitamin C, vitamin A, calcium, and amino acids, lavender aids overall health. A multi-purpose plant, here are some ways you can use lavender bud to facilitate good health and overall well-being:


This is a great way to use your lavender buds to their full potential. Wrap a handful of lavender buds in a clean linen cloth and tie it with twine. You can use this bundle to keep under your pillow, in your wardrobe, or in the shower. The beautiful fragrance helps to soothe the senses.


Say goodbye to expensive spa days! Use lavender to make bath salts, which require few ingredients and even less time. All you need is:

  • 1 cup Epsom salt.
  • 1 cup Dead Sea salt.
  • ½ cup baking soda in a bowl or jar.
  • 2 tsp lavender flowers.
  • Combine and mix well.
  • Enjoy a relaxing floral bath. 


Looking for a calm and relaxing night? A cup of lavender tea might just be the thing you are looking for. Here’s how you can make it:

  • Boil 150 ml of water
  • Add 2 tsp of fresh lavender buds into an infuser
  • Place the infuser in a cup and add hot water
  • Steep for 4-5 minutes
  • Savor your lavender tea!

Tip: You can add 1 tsp of lavender buds to your regular cup of Pure Chamomile, to enhance the soothing experience.


Lavender oil serves many purposes. From using it as an oil diffuser to using it as a healing agent for cuts and wounds. Make it at home with:

  • Fill a glass container with at least ¾ full of dried lavender flowers or buds.
  • Pour your carrier oil of choice over the dry lavender. You can choose almond oil or olive oil.
